ITINERARY N01 – GOSAIND KUND

The real attraction of this trek is the scenery. There are no flights into this area and you reach it by bus from Kathmandu (160 km., 100 miles).

The area is a National Park and is noted for its wildlife. You can expect to see monkeys and many species of birds.

There are particularly fine views from Sing Gomba ("sing" means "fire-wood" in the Sherpa language).

The trek destination, Gosaind Kund, is famous for its lakes, and here in September there is a festival, mainly for Hindus, to which pilgrims come from great distances.
