ITINERARY E07 – JIRI EVEREST BASE CAMP TREKThis is a trek for learning all about Nepal, its culture, its religions and its mountains. The start point is at a place called Jiri. It's a very low start (1904 m., 6248 ft.) but the route carries on to 5542 m., 18,181 ft. On a long trek like this you can see many tribal people. Every day there's something new. You trek through tiny villages and among terraced fields. Below Lukla you are always trekking through forests and green hills. There are so many himalayan ranges connecting this area, from beginning to end of your trek you keep seeing mountains. You are able also to visit village schools and houses and to talk with the local people. They will all be very happy to tell you about local culture. Namche is a beautiful point from which to see views of mountains and valleys. All the way up to Everest Base Camp there are incredible views, and also you can learn more about Sherpa culture. After Dingboche you are above the tree line and you won't see any green, but the view is so impressive, you will never forget it in all your life. When you pass Chola and reach Gokyo, you will find it really beautiful, including the lake near the camp site. Here there are five lakes, and Gokyo Peak is best for mountain views. From Gokyo Peak you can see over 20 mountains, including Mount Everest. We encourange you to visit this natural wonderland.
