TREKKING IN NEPAL
|
PONY TREKThis tour is ideal for lovers of wild mountain country who will enjoy spending a few days on the back of a Nepalese pony. It takes you first on a cultural trip to see the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu and the ancient cities of Bhaktapur and Lalipur in the Kathmandu valley. Then you fly to Nepal's second city, and possibly its most beautiful, Pokhara. Pokhara is overlooked by the distinctive shape of Machhapuchhre ("Fish-tail Mountain") and nestles by the side of Lake Pewa. From your hotel you may be able to see the mountains to the north of the city and the south shore of the Lake. From Pokhara, you fly north to Jomsom, with spectacular views as you pass between Dhaulagiri to your left (the fifth highest mountain in the world) and Annapurna and Nilgiri to your right. Jomsom lies at 3200m. (10,500ft.) in the heart of the high Himalaya, on the route of the Annapurna Circuit. The resort here is very comfortable and is equipped with a small heated swimming-pool.
Prices below are in Euros per person and include accommodation in three star hotels, meals and hot drinks such as tea and coffee, and internal transportation costs. Please note, however, that drinks such as bottled water, fanta, coke, juice, beer, wines, etc. are not included.
