TREKKING IN NEPAL
|
ITINERARY W05 – ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP (SANCTUARY TREK)This is a really great route, easy walking and with great views. The trek starts from Pokhara, and from the beginning there are fine views of mountains, terraces and villages. Among the local people you will find Gurung, Magar, Tibetans and Brahman. Along the trail you will see many different animals and birds as well as different growing crops, according to the season. When you pass Chomrong village you will be trekking through a forest of rhododendron, the national flower of Nepal, which blooms in spring in a huge variety of colours. The site of Annapurna base camp is itself a beautiful place: you will never have seen so many mountains all around you. The trek is called "sanctuary" because the route takes you right into the heart of the Annapurnas, where they form a protective bowl. Here you will see Fish Tail (Machhapuchhre), Annapurna 1 and many more outstanding peaks. No-one who has seen this place will ever forget its beauty. If you go there you won't be sorry. We are awaiting your visit to this our fabulous place.
